SUDSS has had a busy and successful year, organising and hosting over 150 inclusive events for both dental, and hygiene and therapy (H&T) students. There have been successes in sports, both intramural and socially, and the society have engaged with local community, volunteering, and raising awareness and £1000 for Mouth Cancer Sheffield, a new charity that some members helped set up, and £2000 for Sheffield Hospitals Charity.
Will, whilst taking on the role of Vice Present, was also the society’s Inclusions Officer. He organsied a range of inclusion activities and initiatives which included putting together a Freshers’ handbook which was sent to students before arriving in Sheffield, an icebreaker social to help new students settle in, and a number of social events which brought together both dental and H&T students, strengthening their working relationship.
Described as ‘much more than a treasurer’, Dan has acted as the ‘businessman of SUDSS’, establishing links with vital new sponsors and managing and organsing the society’s accounts with efficiency. He has helped out other committee members of the society, spearheading the trade fair alongside Will, helping organise the Dental Ball, and played a major role in producing the Dental Revue Evening.

“The School of Clinical Dentistry is very proud of SUDSS and their recognition as one of the top Departmental Societies is well deserved. Well done to Will and Daniel on their individual awards”.
