Background

Richard joined the Department for Lifelong Learning in January 2013 as a module tutor. He was appointed to the role of Programme Director for BSc Information Technology and Organisations in July 2016.

Richard began his career in Higher Education at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), where he worked in various roles for the Learning and Teaching Institute between January 2000 and July 2011. These included Multimedia Courseware Developer, Senior Learning Technologist, and Senior Lecturer in Creative Development. Richard continues to work at SHU, teaching modules about Virtual Reality, Website Design, Application Design, and Digital Media, alongside the supervision of final year projects.

Richard has a BA in Industrial Design and Technology from Loughborough University, an MSc in Designing Worlwide Interactive Systems from the University of Huddersfield, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Sheffield Hallam University. Richard is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
