Research Seminar Series 2016-2017 launched
The Department of Economics has announced its research seminars for the first semester of the 2016-2017 academic year.
External seminars are events from economists in the UK and overseas presenting new cutting edge research. They reflect the range of research that is carried out here in Sheffield.
Highlights include Maurizio Zanardi (Lancaster University) and Peter Neary (University of Oxford) who will give seminars on International Trade, which is particularly relevant as the UK negotiates trade deals following the EU referendum.
There is research on Behavioural Economics from Nick Powdthavee (Warwick Business School) and Nikolaos Georgantzis (University of Reading) nominated by the Institute for Economics Analysis of Decision-making (InstEAD). There are also seminars on Applied Micrometrics and Political Economy.
Also our internal seminars showcase new research that is undertaken from staff in the Department of Economics at the University of Sheffield.
Research presentations will be given by staff new to the department including Dr Matthew Rablen and Dr Wanyu Chung and also the university's Pro-Vice Chancellor for Learning and Teaching Professor Wyn Morgan.
