100% of our full-time students expressed overall satisfaction with our BA Education, Culture and Childhood degree.

Students’ overall satisfaction with the degree has been recognised in outstanding results from the National Student Survey 2016. Our overall student satisfaction rating is 100%, ranking us amongst the highest in the country.

The results confirm our place as leaders in exciting and innovative approaches to teaching and are a testament to the commitment of our staff in delivering a high quality student experience.

We received 100% satisfaction in each of these areas:

  • Staff are good at explaining things;
  • Staff made the subject interesting;
  • The course is well organised and is running smoothly.

Very consistent praise comes through for the staff's supportive attitude, and the career options this programme has opened up.

Director of Learning and Teaching and Level Three co-ordinator for the BA, Dr Tim Herrick, has responded to the results: “I'm delighted that our NSS results for 2016 graduates have been so positive. It's testament to the care and hard work colleagues have put in over the last three years, the consideration with which the whole programme was designed, and the energy and enthusiasm of our graduates themselves, who are going on to do exciting things with their degree, in teaching, work with young people, and other careers. Graduates regularly tell us how much they valued their degree, and the new doors it opened for them in terms of ideas and work - so it's really pleasing to see this reflected in our satisfaction scores.”

National Student Survey

The National Student Survey (NSS) is targeted mostly at final year undergraduates in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Scotland. The survey provides students with an opportunity to make their opinions on their higher education student experience count at a national level. The results are analysed and used to compile a year on year comparison of data.
