School of Education Facilities
There is PhD hot desk space and a shared Common room available in the department. Students are also able to reserve Seminar rooms across the University and in the department. Please note that a specific desk space in the department is not guaranteed, but alternative study space within the University is available.
Facilities around the University
We have dedicated workspaces for research students around campus:
Dainton Graduate Research Centre
The Dainton Graduate Research Centre offers research students dedicated and bookable work spaces at the heart of the campus. The centre has been designed with students' needs in mind. It has wireless connectivity, social space with soft seating, flexible work space, seminar room and kitchen facilities. The Centre is open 7 days a week between the hours of 8am and 12 midnight.
Interdisciplinary Centre of the Social Science (ICOSS)
An interdisciplinary forum for research, innovation, learning and teaching, ICOSS accommodates more than a hundred researchers in multidisciplinary teams working on evidence-based research to inform social policy.
Open to ideas
Our Students' Union was voted the UK's best for the fourth year running in 2015. Why? Because we listen to our students and give them what they want. It also offers some of the best entertainment anywhere in the UK.
Our accommodation was recently voted the best in the UK for quality (Student Barometer Survey, 2013). There are lots of options to suit postgraduates, in the city centre and in the leafy residential area west of campus.
