Your study will cover theoretical and practical aspects across the range of electronic and electrical engineering. Core topics in this course include power systems, power electronics, digital electronics, circuits and devices, electrical machines and drives.

You'll choose optional modules from an extensive range covering many aspects of electrical and electronic engineering and communications, depending on your interests.

Electronic and Electrical Engineering with a Year in Industry 

This course has the same academic content as our Electronic and Electrical Engineering course. The difference is that you’ll spend a year working full-time for an engineering company, putting your academic study into context and enhancing your career prospects. Placements take place in the penultimate year of study, ie. between the second and third year for BEng students and between the third and fourth year for MEng students.

Electronic and Electrical Engineering with a Modern Language MEng 

It is increasingly important for engineers to have an international perspective. This course gives students the opportunity to spend the third year of their course at one of the high quality European universities with which we have arrangements. Before heading overseas you will need to achieve an acceptable standard in both your technical courses and the appropriate foreign language.
