Our Department is marked its centenary year in 2017.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we held a day of events on Saturday the 22nd July 2017. This was an opportunity for all of us to look back on our time at the department, meet with the people we knew, and see how the department, University and campus have changed over the years.
We hope that everyone who attended had an enjoyable time and if anyone has any stories from the day that you would like to share we would love to hear from you. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or alternatively write to Luke Marsden, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, The University of Sheffield, Suite 6, 3 Solly Street, S1 4DE.

Publication on our History
We also created a publication looking back on our history to help commemorate the centenary year. This was a chance to chart the course of the department’s rise to the forefront of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and reflect on the changing student and staff experiences within our ever-expanding department over the last century.
We have collated memories, reminiscences and artefacts, from people with a former involvement with the department, ranging from day-to-day student life, to the way the department functioned, to the learning and research being undertaken. These books were handed out to those alumni and former staff who attended the celebrations on 22nd July, as well as all current staff and students.
We are very grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the book, or who donated or lent items to the department for the Centenary Day, and to Songke Magnetic Materials for generously sponsoring the publication.
We welcome continued support from all of our alumni, and we are still collecting items of interest, memories and photographs for posterity. If you have anything you wish to contribute, or if you wish to receive a copy of the Centenary book- 100 Years of Flux, please contact: Luke Marsden, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, The University of Sheffield, Suite 27, 3 Solly Street, S1 4DE
