Academic papers awarded top prizes by Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers

Academics from the Electrical Machines and Drives research group were awarded the top prizes for their paper by the IEEE Industry Application Society Industry Drives Committee and at the IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference.

2021 IEMDC Best Paper award to Professor Jiabin Wang

Academics from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering's world leading Electrical Machines and Drives research group have won top paper prizes awarded by the IEEE Industry Application Society Industry Drives Committee  (IDC) and the IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference 2021 .

ECCE 2020 - Industry Drives Committee paper awards:

Professor Jiabin Wang and Dr Antonio Griffo "Prediction of Transient Voltage Distribution in Inverter-fed Stator Winding, Considering Mutual Couplings in Time Domain"

Professor Zi-Qiang Zhu "A Novel Method for Measuring High Frequency DQ-axis and Cross-coupling Inductances in Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines"

IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference 2021 paper prize - 2nd prize:

Professor Jiabin Wang "Smooth and Fast Mode Transition of Synchronous Optimal Modulation for Two-Level Inverter Fed High-Speed PMSM Drives."

Professor Wang said "We are delighted by the best paper awards, and will continue to advance our knowledge in developing power-dense, energy-efficient electric drives”.
