Graduate Electrical Engineer Aayush talks to us about his Sheffield experience, and the future

Aayush Kumar BEng and MSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Aayush is from Patna, Bihar (India) and studied the BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Sheffield, followed by an MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a specialisation in semiconductors. He's now working at Cundall as a Graduate Electrical Engineer.

This alumni profile focuses on Dr. Matthew Hobbs, who studied his MEng and PhD degrees within the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Sheffield. Here, we catch up with Matthew after the publication of his paper entitled “High-Speed Infrared Radiation Thermometer for the Investigation of Early Stage Explosive Development and Fireball Expansion”, on which he was lead author.

Thomas Searle – MEng Electronic Engineering with a Year in Industry (class of 2022) – now works as a Systems Engineer at Sagentia Innovation, where he provides product development services focused on science and technology initiatives.

Mekhola Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a Year in Industry (MEng)

Mekhola chose to study EEE after an internship sparked her interest in all things electronic and electrical which has led to her position as a Graduate engineer at ARM. While at University she enjoyed a year's placement at Rolls Royce and was awarded the Frank Benson prize for her involvement in promoting STEM in outreach activities.

The world class experience Jianeng enjoyed at the University of Sheffield has enabled him to pursue his career at the University of Oxford. Jianeng joined us as an international student from China, and completed a BEng in Electronic Engineering.

Shijia gained a first class BEng in Electronic and Communications Engineering and chose to continue his studies at University College London studying an MSc in Finance. The exposure to industry during his time at Sheffield combined with the support from his tutors helped him to decide to pursue a career in the technology, media and telecom industry.

International Merit Scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international students including 75 undergraduate scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee and 125 postgraduate taught scholarships worth £5,000 towards the tuition fee. Applications are now open for existing offer holders.
