AISG Compatibility Testing

The main aim of the Antenna Interface Standards Group (AISG) was established to create an open specification for the control interface of 3G antenna line products, including Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) Antennas and Tower Mounted Amplifiers (TMA). For this to be achieved there needs to be some form of independent compatibility testing to ensure that devices from different manufacturers can all communicate with one another.

The Communications Research Group at The University of Sheffield is currently waiting for approval as an independent AISG compatibility tester. Antenna Line Devices and Primary Station software can be rigorously tested against our software and a full report produced. This will enable AISG members to prove interoperability, while the packet exchange logs provided from the tests can assist manufacturers in rectifying any faults or omissions. We have also developed a pre-compliance test tool to help manufacturers reduce their development times.

Compatibility tests will be performed at our site near Buxton, Derbyshire, in the strictest confidence. If you wish further information about our activities with the AISG or would like a device, or primary software tested, then please do not hesitate to email us.
