Recruitment opportunity: Lecturer & Senior Lecturer in Electrical Machines

Are you looking to develop your academic career, or make a change from industry to academia?

The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is looking for two enthusiastic and capable individuals, with considerable passion for, and academic or industrial experience in, the area of electrical machines, to join our world leading, innovative, and hugely successful Electrical Machines and Drives (EMD) group.

With a track record of relevant academic and/or industrial research, teaching/training and mentoring roles, the ideal candidates will be looking to develop both their research portfolio’s and knowledge exchange experience through learning and teaching activities in support of the department’s student cohorts. You will have a PhD in a relevant area of electrical machines (or equivalent experience) and a good honours degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related area.

These new roles will be key to providing additional research and teaching capacity to both the EMD group and the department as a whole. The successful candidates will work with the Head of Group, Professor Zhu, and ~120 other staff and research students focused on machines and drives research and teaching.

We would particularly encourage applications from individuals from demographic groups that are currently
underrepresented in engineering including women and those from a BAME background.

Whilst these are full-time posts we are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities that benefit the individual and the University.
