The Ethics Review Procedures in operation in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering accommodate and adhere to University Ethics Review Procedures.
Any research or projects that use:
- Human participants
- Personal data
- Human tissue
will probably require formal Ethics Approval before any work begins. Note that Ethics Approval cannot be granted retrospectively so failure to put in place the correct approvals in advance can have very serious consequences. For example, PhD theses lacking the necessary ethics approvals will not be accepted for examination.
