My vision is to become an expert in the area of communication engineering (specifically antennas, radio frequency engineering) leading a world-class laboratory to produce cutting-edge products and solutions (via research and creating intellectual property) −which can impact the quality of life.

I earned my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering (with a focus on RF and Applied Electromagnetics) from North Dakota State University, USA, with a CGPA of 3.80/4.0 and was awarded the ‘Best Research Assistant of the Year Award’. Previously, I received my MSc with Merit in Radio Frequency Communication Engineering from the University of Bradford, UK and then taught as a University Lecturer for few years before commencing my PhD degree. Currently, I am a Research Associate in Frequency Agile Radio at the University of Sheffield and involved in the development of novel tunable antennas for 5G communications. However, my research interests are very diverse and include topics in Planar Antennas and Arrays, RF Materials, Energy harvesting using RF, Propagation and pathloss in human body, Wireless Power Transfer in Human Body, Millimetre Waves and 5G, Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference.

I am passionate about professional service and educational outreach program and currently volunteering as a STEM Ambassador for STEMNET. Previously, I have served the IEEE Red River Valley section as the Chair (2015– 2016) and Vice-Chair (2014-2016). I am a member of IEEE and have been inducted into the various honor societies including Tau Beta Pi (engineering honor society) and IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE honor society). I am the recipient of globally prestigious ‘IEEE-AP-S Doctoral Research Award’ and a very competitive ‘National Science Foundation funded ND-EPSCOR Doctoral Dissertation Assistantship Award’.
