Information Commons Summer makeover

Information Commons Artwork

Ten years on and more than 13 million visitors later, our Information Commons is getting a makeover!  (Click here to see how the project is progressing.)

In response to your feedback through The National Student Survey 2016, we’ll be refurbishing the building over the summer, tackling wear and tear issues, replacing floor coverings and introducing a fresh new colour scheme.

Following this makeover you will notice improved aesthetics, but we won’t stop there! The library will continue working with you to further develop our great study and learning spaces. In this digital era, the Library’s physical spaces have never been more popular - we’ll continue to work with you to design learning environments that will inspire.

The building is now closed and will re-open on 18 September, ready for the start of the new academic year.

Later in the year, we’ll also be replacing the lift cars, one at a time, to ensure that there is always one lift available. This will take about six months in total, so should be complete by February 2018.
