Estates Development's project managers are responsible for planning, management and development of the University estate, and delivery of the Capital Programme ensuring it is fit for purpose to meet the aims and objectives of the University.

Our committed project management team comprise of a wide spread of specialists in Construction Project Management, Building Surveying, Architectural Design, Construction Health and Safety, Estate Management and Strategic Planning.

Jon Crockett

Jonathan Crockett | Senior Project Manager

Jonathan has developed his position as Senior PM following extensive design, management and contract administration roles outside of the University of Sheffield as a Building Surveyor. Previous employment working in the criminal justice sector within West Yorkshire Police and then with the University of York resulted in Jonathan acquiring an extensive range of experience and expertise in delivering complex major projects.
As the responsible project manager, Jonathan is regularly seen on site at The Diamond and the George Porter decant refurbishment (linking the ambitious plans for the St Georges Heartspace project). More recently Jonathan was responsible for managing the early refurbishment phases of the Faculty of Engineering development.

Steve Armitage

Steve Armitage | Project Coordinator

Steve has worked in a variety of roles in his 30 years at the University and draws on this experience to facilitate excellent support to projects across the campus. His extensive network of contacts and knowledge of University buildings is invaluable when working alongside departments on projects of all shapes and sizes.

Steve has supported various teaching space improvement initiatives with the most recent one being the co-ordination of contractors for a maintenance backlog project in the Hicks Building.

James

James Cox | Project Manager

James joined EFM in 2005 as a ‘year out’ student following his BA degree in Architecture and was quickly offered a permanent position on the team after demonstrating a keen ability to deliver on clients’ expectations. He has developed his role from that of a technician working on minor office re-organisations to a confident and capable project manager working on a wide variety of important refurbishment projects in all areas of the University including laboratories, teaching spaces, student accommodation and commercial outlets.

James manages the entire process from the original conception of the project to its handover including the production of detailed CAD drawings and 3D visualisations. His architectural background coupled with his technical expertise enables him to work very closely with end users to deliver projects to their exacting requirements and to the highest standards of quality.

Brian

Brian Evans | Project Manager

During his 10 years working in EFM, Brian has worked extensively with departments to deliver some outstanding projects throughout the University Campus. He draws on his architectural background to ensure the work delivered by our design team is of the highest quality and that contractors maintain excellent workmanship, professionalism and attention to detail.

Brian is the Project Manager for the Public Realm Project, and continues to work on Teaching Spaces Refurbishment Projects and has recently completed a full scheme of backlog maintenance work throughout the Hicks Building, and managed a significant number of smaller projects.

Pete

Peter Goddard | Project Manager

Peter joined the university in 1997 having worked as a Technician and Building Surveyor in several Sheffield Architectural Practices, gaining a wide range of experience and knowledge carrying out minor and major refurbishment projects across a broad spectrum of complex buildings, both as a Building Surveyor and as a Project Manager.
He is currently managing major Laboratory Refurbishments for the Faculty of Science and also supports a variety of smaller refurbishment projects,  providing extensive design input for the building fabric aspect.

Dave Holland

David Holland | Project Manager

David Holland joined EFM at the beginning of August 2015 and is no stranger to the world of project management and capital development.

David is an experienced Project Manager, joining us from Sheffield Hallam University and is already proving to be a valuable member of the team understanding the intricacies of client/stakeholder management and managing consultants and contractors to the delivery of capital projects.
Current project responsibilities are the new Social Sciences build, completion of Factory 2050 and the next (and future) exciting opportunities at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

Helen

Helen Lally | Project Manager

Helen recently joined in April 2015 bringing with her ten years of experience with a major company, and has considerable expertise and experience in commercial contract and construction project management, and also in managing large site teams.

Helen's current project responsibilities include Velocity II, Management School, Heartspace, Cycle Hub and the Muslim prayer room facility.

Paul M

Paul Morrison | Project Manager

Paul is a project manager with a background in building surveying and worked previously for a large housing association developing their property strategy and managing major projects.

In 1998 Paul joined the university and currently  works on various schemes across the campus with a wide number of projects,  including small alterations, refurbishment of offices, labs, corridors, facilities, development of the universities sports facilities, Cycle Hub and a small robotics facility.

Richard

Richard Parr | Project Manager

Richard joined the University of Sheffield team with 20+ years of Project Management experience, working across a wide spectrum of sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare and education, the last 5 years of which have been at the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University. Richard is an experienced contract administrator and is used to delivering projects to tight programmes, several of which have been award winning schemes across the country.

Richard is currently responsible for the delivery of The Diamond and the refurbishment of the former St George's Library.

David Walker

David Walker | Project Manager

David has been with the University for 11 years, having previously worked as a Quantity Surveyor for Chesterfield Borough Council and Sheffield City Council. His first seven years with the UoS was as a Quantity Surveyor and then, having been awarded an MSc in Project Management, has been demonstrating his professional abilities as a project manager. David is the principal project manager for the Durham Road MSCP project.

Linda

Linda Allen | Communications Manager

Acting as consultant to Estates & Facilities Management on marketing and communications issues, brings a variety of topics and challenges which make this a very interesting and satisfying role.

Based within Estates Development and working alongside the Project Management team, I am fortunate to be at the hub of the exciting capital development programme - a key task of this position is to manage EFM's exhibitions at the University's open days and other external events, providing ample opportunity to promote the world class service that the University provides; meet our prospective students face to face and provide them with the all important information they need to make the decision to come and spend a few years of their lives in Sheffield!
