University Closure Days

Summer Bank Holiday - Monday 28 August 2017

Please note, the University will provide limited service provision on Monday 28 August 2017.

The majority of buildings will be closed and locked down during this period and will re-open at 8am on Tuesday 29 August. Firth Court building will be accessible and staffed throughout. The Diamond building will be open.

All essential staff requiring out of hours access to support essential research activities during this period must advise their Departmental Manager or Laboratory Superintendent and provide their name and details of the building they wish to gain access to. All information must then be forwarded to the University’s Security Supervisor Team ( allowing five days notice. This information will brief colleagues within the Security Control of authorised access.

All essential staff requiring access must have already completed our of hours training and departments are strongly advised to complete risk assessments for the activities that are being undertaken.

Any access queries during the close down period should be directed to the University’s Control Room on 0114 222 4085.

Details of exception and changes to services during this period are as follows:

Security Services will operate the usual service at both central campus and residence locations throughout.

EFM Helpdesk will be closed and the normal out of hours procedures should be followed in case of emergency

On call arrangements for EFM and CiCS will be in operation throughout the period and will be coordinated by Campus Control (0114 222 4085).

Sport Sheffield - All facilities will be closed for the Bank Holiday on Monday 28 August. For further information see
