The School of English DVD Library is located on the second floor of the Jessop West building. It holds hundreds of DVDs and some videos, all of which can be borrowed free of charge by students.
The DVD Library is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12-2.30pm during term time. For opening hours during vacation periods, please contact the English reception.
The library is staffed by graduate students, and overseen by Professor Jonathan Rayner, assisted by other members of staff with an interest in film.
Finding a film
A printed catalogue of all available films is available for viewing in the DVD Library. Films are listed in alphabetical order, followed by the director's name. All set texts for postgraduate modules are available to borrow, as well as further research materials.
Borrowing a film
You may borrow up to three DVDs at any one time. The majority of films may be borrowed for up to one week, however films that are used as set texts for modules may only be borrowed for one day (overnight).
DVDs in your possession are the property of the University and should be treated with care and respect. In the case of loss or destruction of DVDs, you will be required be required to pay the cost of the product.
Recommendations or requests for additions to the DVD Library should be made to Professor Jonathan Rayner: email@example.com.
