An exciting opportunity to hear from an expert panel on Careers & Employability for Arts & Humanities students.

It is not always clear what career paths are open to Arts & Humanities students after they have graduated from university. There is also little information about what skills and experiences are desired by employers in different industries. Perhaps most important of all, Arts & Humanities students are often unaware of the value they bring to the workplace.

FirstGenSheffield are facilitating an exciting one-off panel discussion that sheds light on these and other important issues regarding future careers and employability.

4 different speakers, all of whom are experts thriving in their respective fields, will provide 10 minute talks that cover:

  • The wide variety of career paths open to Arts & Humanities students
  • Skills and experiences required to enter the workplace and thrive
  • Opportunities for work experience and networking
  • The value of Arts & Humanities students in the workplace

After the four 10-minute talks, there will be an opportunity for a Q&A and informal networking.

Guest speakers are as follows:

  • Emily Cuthbert - Independent Artist and Junior Creative at McCann Leeds
  • John Kamara = Founder of The Library of Life, Co-founder of the Beards & Books imprintCommunity Organiser
  • Nick Bax - Founder of Human and Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts
  • Nick Power - Phase Operations Manager at Manchester City FC
