Enterprise Curriculum Development (ECD) Grants
The Enterprise Curriculum Development (ECD) Grant is a flexible fund, providing successful applicants with around £1,000 of funding to promote the development or enhancement of taught curricular programmes, in order to provide opportunities for students to develop enterprise capabilities as part of their studies.
The aim is to increase the opportunities for students to become creative problem-solvers, to apply their academic knowledge into 'real life' situations, and to develop skills in managing limited resources under uncertainty. Embedding these capabilities within the curriculum can be done as part of the provision of core discipline teaching without detracting from essential subject content.
Applications are received on a rolling basis, with new submissions reviewed monthly by the USEA team. Applications should be made using our online application form.
If you are interested in applying for a Grant and would like to discuss your ideas with the USE Academy before submitting your application, please contact us.
We are particularly seeking to support projects that:
- enable development of enterprise capabilities at programme- or department-level; or
- show multidisciplinary and/or cross-departmental collaboration.
If you are an individual seeking to fund developments to an individual module or other discrete area of your curriculum, please contact us to find out about ad hoc funding opportunities.
Applications are welcome from individuals and groups of academics from all faculties and departments. Applicants must be able to demonstrate departmental- or school-level contribution and commitment to the development of the project.
Please note that demand for the award is high, and that as such USEA will give priority consideration to applicants who have not secured funding from other sources.
