Concerts programme offers a true Christmas classic

The University's Concert programme celebrates this year's festive season in timeless style with a screening of Raymond Briggs’ heartwarming tale of a snowman that comes to life, and his adventures with the little boy who built him. The film will be magically brought to life in a breathtaking performance with the original score performed by an orchestra and the famous Walking In The Air performed by a special soloist.

Sheffield Rep. Orchestra will play Howard Blake’s original musical score live as you watch the film.

The orchestra will also be playing a medley of music from the film FROZEN alongside other Christmassy favourites, making this concert timeless Christmas magic for the whole family!

The Snowman film was directed by Dianne Jackson for Channel 4 and was first shown on 26 December 1982, becoming an immediate success. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film and won a BAFTA TV Award.
