Second for Linguistics in the 2017 Complete University Guide
We’ve been ranked second in the UK for Linguistics in the Complete University Guide 2017. The results published today (Monday 25 April) show a move up from last year's seventh position in the league table. This marks the eighth consecutive year for Sheffield Linguistics to be ranked in the Top 10 of UK Universities.
Professor Jacqueline Labbe, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, commented:
"This is excellent news and demonstrates the outstanding strengths in Linguistics research, learning and teaching in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Sheffield. The ranking recognises the expertise of our academic staff in this field and their ability to deliver high quality, research-led teaching to our students."
The Complete University Guide's 2017 subject league tables ranks 127 institutions on ten measures: student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity, entry standards, student-to-staff ratio, spending on academic services, spending on student facilities, good honours degrees achieved, graduate prospects and completion.
