Dr Marjorie Shaw Postgraduate Scholarships, 2017-18

We are delighted to announce two scholarships of £8,490 (£4,990 towards tuition fees and £3,500 towards maintenance costs) for Taught MA students in French at the University of Sheffield in 2017-18. These scholarships have been generously funded by a legacy from the late Dr Marjorie Shaw who was a lecturer in the Department of French for over 30 years.

All entering students (full time, part time, UK/EU, overseas) are eligible to apply; successful part-time students will receive their £8,490 scholarship over two years of study. Scholarships are not renewable beyond the end of academic year 2017-18.

In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have applied to study for a Taught MA in the Department of French by 4 pm on Friday 5 May 2017.


Candidates must apply separately for the Marjorie Shaw Bursary and are asked to send their CV and a letter of application to the Director of MA Programmes in French, Dr Audrey Small by Friday 5 May 2017.
