French Bursaries at the University of Sheffield
In French we afford our students a wealth of opportunities both in and beyond the classroom. One of the ways we do this is by offering financial support through the annual Dr Marjorie Shaw Bursary.
What is the Dr Marjorie Shaw Bursary?
Thanks to the generosity of the late Dr Marjorie Shaw (1915-2000), a former Senior Lecturer in the department, we are able to offer one financial needs undergraduate bursary.
At postgraduate level, we have two scholarships towards tuition fees and maintenance costs for Taught MA students in French for 2017. Details here.
Year abroad financial need bursary
One bursary of £1000 will be awarded on application, to a Level 2 student who has previously sought and obtained financial assistance from the University .
You must provide evidence of having successfully applied for financial assistance from the University. If there are more applicants than available bursaries, recipients will be selected on the basis of progress made during Level 1.
Applications for the bursaries should be made to the Head of French, Dr Wendy Michallat.
