Research Interests
I am interested in climate change adaptation, agriculture, risk and resilience, disaster risk reduction, ecosystems, food security, sustainable development.

Project description
A major question for food security over the coming century is how temperature and precipitation changes will impact crop production and hence food security. My project will couple climate modelling and crop modelling to provide estimates of crop yields in Europe to the end of this century in an attempt to provide an internationally relevant answer to the question.

Estimates of future climate change and variability will be obtained from existing simulations with Global Climate Models (GCMs) forced with scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions. Output from these GCM simulations for variables relevant for crop growth will be used as input to crop growth models, to produce predictions of crop yield to focus on wheat, the key staple for Europe.
