Cognitive Behavioural Mentoring Workshop

Kay Guccione is offering this workshop out to GROW Mentors

Date: 3rd August 2017
Time: 12.30-13.30
Where: Firth Court Council Room

The next 1hour mentor techniques workshop in this year's series will take place on 3rd August 2017.

The full mentor workshop series details can be found here.

The workshops have been designed with input from mentor groups, will be run over lunchtimes throughout the year. As a mentor you will be invited to these 1hour skills development sessions in order to offer you chances to refresh your skills (especially if it's a while since you did the induction training) and stay current and relevant in your mentoring. They are also a good chance to meet other mentors and discuss anything you've been stuck with, or wondering about.

cbt

The 'Cognitive Behavioural' model is a form of mentoring / coaching which focuses on challenging errors in thinking by raising self-awareness of the mentee / coachee's thinking patterns. It helps the mentee to test out alternative ways of operating in the workplace and analyses the effects of these experiments on work performance, problem solving, resilience and well being.

"CBT is a simple idea that we may be familiar with from other areas of life or work, and it was good to have some time to think about how it might be utilised at work to help mentees understand what's happening for them, and try something new."
