    Did you know that June was international Aphasia Awareness month? Speech and Language Therapists from County Health Partnerships’ Stroke Outpatient service worked with local self-help groups, voluntary services, and student Speech and Language Therapists from Human Communication Sciences, Sheffield University to hold a drop-in event at Mansfield Community Hospital on 23rd June 2015.

    What is Aphasia?

    Most people haven’t heard of aphasia. For someone who lives with aphasia that is a problem. In the department’s Aphasia Centre we work with people to help them regain their confidence in themselves.

    Emeritus fellowship award for HCS professor

    Bill Wells has been awarded a Leverhulme Emeritus Fellowship for two years from February 2016.
    The scheme enables senior researchers who have retired to prepare the results of a project for publication.
    The project is entitled "Overlapping talk in conversation: phonetics, phonology and interaction".
