- Profile
-
As a speech and language therapist, I have clinical experience working with adults with dysphagia and a range of acquired communication and voice disorders.
I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and I am registered to practise as a Speech and Language Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
I am an Associate Fellow of the HEA for teaching and learning in higher education. In 2017-18 I successfully completed the NIHR/HEE Integrated Clinical Academic Internships (North) scheme on the topic of age-related hearing disability and post-stroke aphasia. I was supervised by Dr Paul Conroy (University of Manchester, UK).
Previously, I completed my MMedSci at the University of Sheffield, where I was awarded the Enderby Prize, and my undergraduate degree at the University of Durham, UK.

My PhD project is funded through a PhD studentship grant from the Alzheimer’s Society with support from Healthcare Management Trust and commenced in October 2018. It evaluates an adaptation of constraint-induced aphasia therapy for people with dementia who have word-finding difficulties.
