Vela DeckerWhat do you think of Sheffield?

As an international student from the United States, I first came to the University of Sheffield to study abroad for a semester as an undergraduate. I had never been to England before, never lived in a city and did not know anyone in Sheffield, but I had a great experience studying here. I returned to the University of Sheffield after my undergraduate degree to pursue an MA in Modern History. Sheffield is a great place to live no matter what, but I returned here for postgraduate study because I was impressed with the education at the University of Sheffield.

Are there any modules you have particuarly enjoyed?

The Department of History been fantastic and so far I have enjoyed all of the modules. The 'Modernity and Power' core module has helped me develop a better understanding of conceptual approaches to history and my work placement at Sheffield Manor Lodge has definitely improved my research skills.
