Sheffield Leader Goes International!
A delegation of staff from Human Resources at the University of Sheffield are visiting Canadian universities to further develop long-term collaborative relationships.
Andrew Dodman, Director of Human Resources, Gill Tait, Assistant Director of Human Resources (Organisational Development) and Jane Ginniver, Senior HR Adviser (Leadership and Management Development) are currently in Canada visiting Carleton (based in Ottawa) and Toronto Universities.
During the visit, they will meet with several Carleton staff including Dan Corbett, interim assistant vice-president of Human Resources; Ed Kane, assistant vice-president of University Services; and Katherine Graham, senior adviser to the Provost and President.
Late last year Human Resources welcomed colleagues from Canada, to the University of Sheffield, to specifically discuss the Sheffield Leader and how this could be introduced in Carleton. Since returning to Canada, plans have progressed quickly for the implementation of a 'Carleton Leader', which builds upon the Sheffield Leader model, and is due to be launched in the autumn. Andrew, Gill and Jane are in Canada to oversee the progress that has been achieved to date. Whilst in Canada they are seizing the opportunity to look at further collaboration in a variety of areas, learning from colleagues across a broad spectrum of areas including reward and recognition, equality and diversity, and health and wellbeing.
“We’re very happy to welcome our visitors from the University of Sheffield,’’ said Cindy Taylor, Director of the Office of Quality Initiatives. “We’re looking forward to working with them in the future, especially as we develop our Carleton Leader program and our relationship with them as a partner institution.’’
“We are delighted to collaborate with Carleton University, and we are most grateful for their very warm welcome and great willingness to share their learning and expertise. We hope to broaden and deepen our relationship with them” said Andrew Dodman, Director of Human Resources.
The Human Resources delegation will be visiting Carleton University from 2-3 July. A link to their website can be found below:
