Director of Human Resources showcases the University’s innovative people strategy ‘Talent First’ at the HR Society Conference in London
Following the University of Sheffield being awarded ‘highly commended’ in the HR Society Workforce Strategy and Planning Awards in July, the Director of Human Resources, Andrew Dodman, was invited to speak at the HR Society ‘New Business Challenges for HR’ conference in London on 26th September 2013.
Andrew gave the conference an insight into the University of Sheffield’s innovative people strategy, named ‘Talent First’. With over 27,000 students and 6,000 staff, the University needs to ensure that it attracts, grows and engages the very best talent from around the world. Andrew shared his experiences of meeting the challenge through promoting individual talent, personal differences and even misanthropic idiosyncrasies, and argued that employee health, wellbeing and happiness is now a significant leadership and HR challenge.
The HR Society is a network whose members are drawn from the senior ranks of the HR profession, academia and others involved in value added HR strategy across the private, public and not for profit sectors.
