Public Health Responsibility Deal
This month the University has signed up to the Department of Health’s Public Health Responsibility Deal. The Public Health Responsibility Deal has been established to tap into the potential for organisations to improve public health and tackle health inequalities through their influence over food, alcohol, physical activity and health in the workplace.
Human Resources and Accommodation and Commercial Services have been working in partnership on this project and have signed up to a total of 6 collective pledges relating to:
- Physical activity in the workplace
- Healthier staff restaurants
- Salt reduction
- Artificial trans-fat reduction
- Awareness of alcohol units in the on trade
- Promote consumption of fruit and vegetables
Each pledge has an individual delivery plan and we will be required to monitor our progress against our delivery plans on an annual basis.
For more information about the Responsibility Deal and to view our delivery plans on line please our Partnership page on the Responsibility Deal website.
