New 24 Hour Support Line for University Staff
The University of Sheffield Staff Support Line was launched on 1 June 2010. This is a free, independent and completely confidential 24 hour telephone counselling service for all University staff and their immediate families. The service (which also includes a website) provides information and guidance on a wide range of work related and personal matters.
Staff can contact the telephone service on the freephone number 0800 068 6729 any time of day or night, any day of the year.
The University of Sheffield Staff Support Line has been implemented in direct response to feedback provided by staff. This service, which is provided by an independent, external provider AXA ICAS, enhances the existing provision from the Staff Counselling Service and the Staff Occupational Health Service, providing an immediate source of counselling and guidance. The launch of this programme is supported by the University Executive Board and the Staff Wellbeing Group, and is part of the University’s Staff Wellbeing Strategy.
