The University's People Strategy, The Power of People 2016-2021 builds on the significant achievements of Talent First, the University's People Strategy 2013-2015, and importantly, equips the University to deliver its strategic goals through a talented and diverse workforce.


It is closely aligned to the University's Strategic Plan to ensure that we deliver on key objectives.

Our People Strategy comprises seven inter-connected themes which together provide a remarkable place to work.

Talent First 2013-2015

Our staff and their collective talent is the first and foremost priority for a university that wishes to change the world for the better through the power and application of ideas and knowledge. For this reason, our People Strategy is named TALENT FIRST and supports the University of Sheffield to be one of the best universities in the world; renowned for the excellence, impact and distinctiveness both of its research and its research-led learning and teaching.
