University recognised with Athena SWAN silver award

Today (Tuesday 7 May 2019) we have been recognised for our ongoing commitment to progressing gender equality by the flagship accreditation scheme, Athena SWAN Charter. Our Silver institutional award has been renewed until 2022, making us one of only 18 universities to hold this accolade.

What is Athena SWAN?

The Athena SWAN Charter celebrates success in advancing gender equality in Higher Education and research. The University has an excellent track record, having achieved a Silver Award at institutional level. 21 of our departments now hold either Silver or Bronze.
