Adoption/Surrogacy Leave Toolkit

Welcome to the University of Sheffield’s Adoption/Surrogacy Toolkit.

This toolkit should be read in conjunction with the University of Sheffield Adoption/Surrogacy Policy and Procedure.  Its navigation has been designed to guide staff and managers through the organisation and management of adoption leave, by providing a concise overview of what to expect and consider before, during and after adoption leave at the University of Sheffield.

This guidance is also applicable to those eligible staff who are intended parents of a child born through a surrogacy arrangement, that will be subject to a Parental Order. Where variations apply, these will be highlighted appropriately. For the purpose of this toolkit, when referring to "adoption", this will also be inclusive of surrogacy.

The toolkit will enable the user to dip into key information as the need arises whilst also providing links to relevant forms, flowcharts and additional sources of information. These tools can be found in the Adoption Leave Toolkit Index below.
