Changing Roles within the University
Procedure for employees
1. When an employee is appointed to a new post within the University, they should inform their Line Manager in writing, stating the date on which they wish to commence in their new post (taking into account the required contractual notice period). Periods of notice longer than those contractually required will be accepted.
2. The employee should inform Human Resources via email, stating their new role, Department and start date.
3. It is recommended that the employee's Line Manager arrange a Leaving Discussion with the employee before they move to their new post, in order to gather key information about their experience of working in the Department, ensuring a smooth handover and priorities for the remainder of their time in the role.
