Sheffield Leader: Essentials Development Programme
Sheffield Leader: Essentials is designed to complement Sheffield Leader: Impact for Senior Leaders and Future Leaders, as well as Executive Team Programmes. Sheffield Leader Essentials will enable identified individuals from across the university to develop the foundational knowledge, practical skills and behaviours to consistently perform and succeed in their leadership and management role.
These skills will enable individuals to manage and lead their people and their resources, to ensure that they are delivering in line with the University’s focus on excellence and ambition.
Sheffield Leader: Essentials is for individuals who are Grade 7 or above, with line management responsibilities.
Other key considerations for this programme include:
- The programme is for staff who have high potential, with an emphasis on those who either manage teams and/or have a role that is crucial in influencing upwards.
- The programme workshop schedule requires participants to be away from the workplace for 6 days in total across a period of about 6 months. Attendance at all workshops is required.
- The programme’s “Support and Challenge” sessions will require participants to manage their own commitments and schedule to attend for 1 hour, at mutually beneficial times with assigned peers on their cohorts.
- There are also up to 4 additional Explore and Apply 2.5 hour sessions available towards the close of the programme that participants are encouraged to attend in line with their own availability.
The programme is currently underway, with a number of cohorts progressing.
