Naomi Richardson Assoc. CIPD
OD Adviser (People Development)
Naomi is an experienced HR professional, working within a generalist setting for over 5 years, predominantly in public and third sector organisations across South Yorkshire. After undertaking a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education York St John University, she went on to graduate with an MSc in Human Resource Management from Sheffield Hallam University and is Level 7 qualified and an Associate Member of the CIPD.
By developing good relationships and using the techniques she learnt from undertaking the Barefoot Coaching Course, Naomi is experienced at partnering with managers at all levels to take an active role in enhancing management capability, with particular focus on coaching front line and newer managers to support them in leading their teams effectively, and providing support, guidance and ‘check and challenge’ to their decision making within day to day management.
Alongside this, she has utilised various learning and development initiatives to enable departments to deliver against their business plans and worked in partnership with senior leaders to support the implementation of ongoing OD and change projects. She has also delivered facilitation of more structured development such as the Stepping Into Management (SIM) course and created a wealth of resources including a Line Manager’s toolkit to support managers and leaders covering a diverse range of topics, accessed when and where they needed them.
Naomi is particularly interested in a holistic approach to organisational development and hopes to achieve this by working collaboratively across both OD and the wider HR department as well as other key internal and external stakeholders; ensuring aspects such as wellbeing and EDI underpins all that we do.
Naomi joined the University in June 2021, and will be using her skills and experience to ensure we can support the development of people to their fullest potential. This is something which excites her as we embark on delivering the priorities of our Vision of One University in a time of exciting change recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.
