Wound Care (Study Day)

Who is it for?

This study day is suitable for first level registered nurses and health care assistants working in primary care settings.

Overview of content:

  • Assessment skills
  • Principles of wound care
  • Local formularies
  • Leg ulcer management
  • Signposting/ sources of advice

What is it about?

This study day provides an introduction to the assessment of acute and chronic wounds and the management of effective care.

How does it enhance practice?

Participants learn how to undertake accurate wound assessments and how to manage acute and chronic wounds with particular references to leg ulcers. Nurses also have increased awareness of sources of wound care support and advice.

Course Structure:

1 x half day study day - 13:00-16:00
