Vaccination and Immunisation One Day Update Training (Study Day)

These updates will run approximately every two months.

Who is it for?

This study day is suitable for first level registered nurses working in primary care, health visitors, school nurses who have undertaken basic Vaccination & Immunisation training previously and now need an update. This course is not suitable for Health Care Assistants

Overview of content:

  • Current issues in vaccination
  • Recent epidemiology of vaccine preventable diseases
  • Any changes to the National Immunisation Schedule/relevant legislation
  • Anaphylaxis recognition and management
  • Review of current practice and identification of areas for improvement
  • Flu vaccination
  • Q&A session for commonly encountered problems in practice

What is it about?

This study day is about current issues in vaccination, recent epidemiology, changes to the National programme/legislation, anaphylaxis management and recognition, review of current practice and identification of areas for improvement, flu vaccinations, question and answer session.

How does it enhance practice?

Upon completion of the study day, participants will be up to date in relation to the above areas.
