Biosciences in Neonatal Care (SNM647)
Who is it for?
This module is aimed at trainee ANNP’s as part of the MMedSci ANNP programme. It is also available to neonatal health care practitioners as a stand alone module should you wish to develop your knowledge of bioscience in neonatal care.
What is it about?
In order to advance your role in the care of neonates and develop the process of mastery in advanced neonatal nursing science you will be undertaking the study of bioscience in neonatal care at post graduate level (level 7). This unit will help to support the acquisition of knowledge that will underpin development of clinical skills commensurate with masterly practice.
How does it enhance practice?
The aim of this unit is to enable you, the neonatal healthcare practitioner, to gain the relevant underpinning bioscience knowledge that will underpin judgements and clinical decision making in your day to day practice.
It is an excellent route to continuing advanced practice development for those ANNPs who would like to refresh their clinical practice and theoretical knowledge in neonatal biosciences.
It is also possible to complete SNM647 alongside SNM648 Neonatal Health Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning module should you wish to enhance your neonatal skills at the bedside.
Please note that should you wish to access SNM648 Neonatal Health Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning you must have completed this module first.
Mode of Assessment
Knowledge gained relating to this module will be assessed using MCQ / EMQ exam.
