Conference news release

The sixth IACHE global conference is to be held in Sheffield, England. University chaplain staff will come together with researchers who are passionate about chaplaincy for this exciting five-day event.

Chaplaincy staff in higher education from around the world will be, for the first time, coming to Sheffield in England for the sixth quadrennial conference of the International Association of Chaplains in Higher Education.


The sixth global conference for chaplains in higher education will be held in Sheffield from 15-19 June 2020.

Keynote speakers who are expert in their field and passionate about chaplaincy will be delivering talks and tours and seminars will run throughout the week.


Sheffield sits on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The conference setting for Liberty, Legacy, Leadership, is beautiful, secure and well connected to airports, international rail and sea ports

The conference is hosted by the Conference of European University Chaplains (CEUC) and has a theme of Liberty, Legacy, Leadership.


Our 2020 conference, Liberty, Legacy, Leadership, is an outstanding opportunity for higher-education chaplains to develop and re-energise their practice and professionalise their delivery. Hosted in a safe and inclusive environment, the 2020 conference will foster collaboration, best-practice sharing and high-quality networking among colleagues from across the globe.
