IBL in Human Communication Sciences
This case study describes the strategies adopted by the Department of Human Communication Sciences to embed inquiry-based learning more fully into the curriculum. The project leader discusses the development of a model for IBL development across a spiral curriculum, with IBL expertise and activities cascading upwards. There are also details of the successful and, as it turns out, transferable use of IBL in individual course units. Finally, the creation of an innovative staff development and engagement forum known as the `sandpit´ is surveyed.
