Conference Room (POD)Conference Room

The Conference Room is located on the first floor, inside the ICOSS building's distinctive and prominent patinated copper 'pod'. The room offers a lecture theatre or conference style arrangement of seating, though other layouts can be catered for with the addition of tables. (Please note that ICOSS is an un-portered building - portering assistance to re-arrange furniture must be booked in advance with EFM.)

Maximum room capacity: 60 people (lecture style seating), or ~30 people with tables

The large entrance foyer of the ICOSS building is the ideal location for receiving attendees to your event, and for guests to take coffee and lunch breaks. The space can be used for poster exhibitions and there are two large plasma screen displays which you can use to show rolling presentations or videos. (See below for further details)

Maximum room capacity: 80 people

*** Please note that the Boardroom and the Glass Meeting Room are only for use by staff resident in the building. ***

Making a Booking

University of Sheffield staff wishing to book the Conference Room must now use the online Room Bookings service via MUSE. Staff should also view this document for more useful information about ICOSS meeting rooms, including arrangements for out-of-hours access and important health & safety guidance.

To book the ICOSS Foyer or to make arrangements to use the large screens in the Foyer, please contact in the first instance.

Refreshments can be served in the Foyer or on the 1st floor landing area. Food and drinks are not allowed in the Conference Room.

Event organisers should book catering through the University's catering services or other approved caterers, remembering to specify whereabouts in the building the refreshments should be delivered and setup. Organisers are responsible for receiving all refreshments on the day, checking that orders are correct and ensuring that spaces are left clean and tidy upon departure.
