Dr Iwan Evans Awarded Fellowship

Iwan Evans has been awarded a Sir Henry Dale Fellowship from the Wellcome Trust and Royal Society to study integration of apoptotic cell clearance with macrophage migration. This provides him with funding for five years and includes a research assistant position. The application was co-sponsored between the Department of Infection and Immunity and the Centre for Developmental and Biomedical Genetics (MRC CDBG). A number of the referees highlighted the environment and the close links between our department and CDBG as a major strength of the application.

Iwan has recovered enough from the process to thank Profs. Whyte, Sabroe and Dockrell and Drs. Renshaw, Walmsley and Johnston for giving him a good grilling in mock interviews to prepare him for the real one!
