Postdoctoral Researcher becomes Higher Education Academy Associate Fellow
As an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Jennifer has gained national recognition for her role as a teacher and supporter of learning within the higher education context. Jennifer attended the Sheffield Teaching Assistant course organised by the University of Sheffield in 2011 and thereafter engaged in a variety of teaching to develop her teaching portfolio in order to make an individual application to the Higher Education Academy.
The Higher Education Academy recognition scheme contributes towards the professionalisation of teaching by conferring the status of Associate Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow or Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy on those who have met the appropriate standards in the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in higher education (UKPSF). It provides an indicator of professional identity for higher education practitioners, including the entitlement to use post-nominal letters.
Jennifer’s application was supported by the MDH Research Staff Association Career Development Fund who awarded her the full cost of the application fee.
