What is Incident Management?

Incident Management is a process that allows the University to manage the impacts of the incident either until it is under control or contained to manage the impacts or until a business continuity plan is implemented to manage it.

It is focused on the initial response and dealing with the immediate priorities, such as ensuring the welfare of people, the safety of buildings and an assessment of the damage caused.

Major Incident Plan

The University’s Major Incident Plan is an incident management plan that can operate alongside departmental business continuity plans, and is only used in the event of a major incident.

The Plan explains the structure for the management of incidents and the potential for a Major Incident Team to be set up to co-ordinate the University’s response.
