Visa information for students from Tanzania
All Tanzanian nationals who wish to study in the UK will need to apply for a study visa before they are eligible to enter the UK and begin their programme of study.
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) runs the UK's visa and immigration service.
Please check UKVI for information on the requirements for Tanzanian nationals who wish to study in the UK.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number
Once you have accepted and met the conditions of your offer of a study place, we will contact you to issue you a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number. This replaces the previous system using Visa Letters. You will need to use this CAS number in your application for a study visa to come to Sheffield.
Advice and help with your visa
The University's International Student Support Services has trained immigration specialists to support you in applying for your visa as well as offering comprehensive advice on immigration issues.
You can receive visa counselling from the official representative of the University of Sheffield in Tanzania, Uniserv. The counsellors will advise on all the necessary paperwork and documentation you will need in order to apply for your visa.
Extending your visa
The University's International Student Support Services and the Union of Students' Advice Centre can offer information and advice, to you and any dependants, on extending your visa once you are in the UK.
