Other ways to visit
In addition to our individual EU visits, we also offer prospective students the chance to attend one of our open days.
University open days
Our whole university open days are great for finding out more information about the university and the course you’d like to study before you apply. You’ll have the chance to take a tour of our campus, Students’ Union and accommodation, and attend general talks about fees and funding, how to apply, and other things that matter to you.
You’ll also be able to attend talks run by the academic department you want to apply to, and chat to current staff and students about your course.
We run undergraduate and postgraduate specific open days, to make sure that you receive information that is tailored specifically to your needs.
Departmental open days
If your department offers you a place, or is thinking about offering you a place, you’ll be invited to a departmental open day.
These take place later in the year, and give you the opportunity to find out more about your department. You’ll spend the day with staff and current students, who will be able to tell you more about your course and any research they’re doing. They’ll also be around to answer any queries you might have.
You’ll normally be contacted by the department about a departmental open day after you’ve applied, but if you want more information now then contact the academic department directly.
We understand that it might not be possible for you to visit the University of Sheffield in person.
Because we don’t want you to miss out on discovering what a great place it is, we’ve created a virtual tour for you. There are videos available on a range of topics, from the campus, accommodation and each of the faculties, to student societies and the University’s nightlife.
Visits to your country
We make regular visits to countries in Europe and would love to meet those of you interested in studying with us who are unable to visit Sheffield.
