Entry requirements for students from Lebanon

We've been welcoming students from Lebanon for many years and our staff are very familiar with the Lebanese education system and qualifications.

High entrance requirements for our degree programmes at Sheffield reflect the quality of the University.

All applicants are required to have an internationally recognised English language qualification such as IELTS.

Entry requirements

Entry to Undergraduate Programmes e.g. BSc, BA, BEng/ MEng

A variety of qualifications can be considered for direct admission to undergraduate bachelor degree programmes. All applications for undergraduate programmes should be made through UCAS.

A Level
Applicants with a minimum of 3 A levels will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.

International Baccalaureate
Applicants with a minimum of 34 points will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.

French Baccalaureate
Students achieving between 13 and 15 out of 20 in the French Baccalaureate will be considered for direct entry to University of Sheffield programmes. Full details of equivalencies can be found here

Lebanese Baccalaureate, Baccalauréat Général, Shahaadat AlBakaalouriya al Lubnaaniya l'il-ta 'liim alThaanawi
Students achieveing 75% or 15/20 will be eligible for entry on to foundation programmes at the University of Sheffield. See below details of the International College.

Our International College provides undergraduate foundation programmes specifically designed for students seeking entry into the University of Sheffield.

Postgraduate Taught Programmes e.g. MA, MSc

Holders of a bachelor degree from a recognised Lebanese university will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate diploma or masters programmes. Graduates with GPA’s of 3.0 or 80% and above will be considered for entry. Graduates from French university system will be considered with GPA of 2.6 and above.

For Entry to MBA

Holders of a bachelor degree from a recognised university and at least 3 years´ post-graduation work experience will be considered for direct admission to the MBA. Applicants must be at least 25 years old by the time the programme starts.

Holders of a bachelor degree and masters degree from a recognised university will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate research programmes.
